It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of this wonderful man on February 17, 2020 ( 3:15 PM ) at the Ouellette Campus at 76 years of age. Son of the late William and Barbara Harrington-Rilley. Beloved husband of Sarah Annabelle “Ann” (nee Emmorey) with whom he celebrated 59 years of marriage. Loving father of Paul Jr. Harrington (Cheryl), Serena Longo (Nick) and Debra-Ann Harrington-Taylor. Treasured grandpa of Corey, Lance (Jasmine), Linda, Dustin (Morgan), Porsché (J.J.), Sophia, Kody, Elizabeth, Sarah, Victoria, Jessi-Lee and the late Paul Jr. III. Great grandpa of Isabella, Lylah, Rourie and one on the way. Brother of Allen Harrington (Barbara) and James Harrington (Sue). Brother-in-law of Elmer Emmorey, Iola Davis; the late Eleanor Davis, Don Emmorey, Maudie Price and Billy Emmorey. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Paul served in the Canadian Army for 12 years; served as a Windsor Police Officer in 1969; security guard (with a 38 special!) in 1969; accepted to the OPP and Ford Motor Company at the same time (the wife in charge made the decision); he retired from Ford Motor Company with over 30 years of dedicated service! Paul was a pilot since 1972 and an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) with his own airport, named the Essex Airport owned by P & A Harrington (licensed by Transport Canada). Member of Eastern Ontario Gunners’ Association; COPA; Cub Club; Taylorcraft Foundation; The International Cessna 170 Association. Paul is resting at the Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd. (519-776-7378) 128 Talbot St. N, Essex on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The life celebration service will take place from the funeral home on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
